USAF 2703rd EOD 3rd Det Hat Cap Okinawa
Item: PW340

Here is a pretty cool souvenir hat.  It's theater made in Japan for the USAF's 2703rd EOD 3rd Detachment Squadron in Okinawa. They were activated in 1958 to remove unexploded ordnance. From what I researched, each Detachment, there were 6, was authorized one officer, 15 airmen and one civilian.

The cap has a wool body with a silk-like liner and faux leather sweatband.  The insignia are theater made patches which have been stitched in place.  The lettering is direct embroidered.  Has a few condition issues.  Sweatband is well worn, has a few stains and a couple small holes, most are on the underside of the bill.  Probably not too many of these around!
